STATEMENT of PURPOSE
Shaggy Dog Press is looking for writing that immerses the reader in story, character or place. It should have a solid base in, and respect the sanctity of, the natural world.
We plan to publish quality work by first-time or lesser-known authors to serve an underfed readership that would otherwise go unnoticed.
We retain the right to be reimbursed for all publication expenses. Any monies realized after such expenses have been met will be sent directly to the author. No royalties are to be expected or realized. Contractual efforts are paid upon publication.
We will promote and distribute within our reach, but the author is expected to fully participate in promotional and distributional efforts.
Shaggy Dog Press does not intend to make money, but it does believe the writers should.
